[香蕉談]美國人眼中的亞洲人

很多人想來美國，也蠻多人想來紐約。除了托福那些考試，和留學申請的步驟之外，有多少人想過或認知到在美國生活的變化呢？
譬如說，有沒想過美國人怎麼看待我們中國人，或是亞洲人？

嗯，我要說的東西先慢點寫，先貼篇文章，是我在個紐約相關網站看到的文章。英文啦，就忍耐點看吧。
題目，叫做【so whats the deal with STARBUCKS, LAPTOPS and ASIANS?】(註)。

原文如下:
Asians are pretentious people. Honestly, I'm starting to think that everything you'd associate with small character is endemic to asians. Just from personal observation. A lot of them will tell you the same thing: a flip girl telling me that "philipinos are shady". A chinese girl telling me that "chinese are selfish - that's just the way they're raised". A japanese girl telling me "japanese men are sick." A chinese guy writing on the internet about intra-chinese "jealousy for those doing better than them, and scorn for those not doing as well", as a general tendency. But mainly my personal observation informs my opinion. They're not really "big" people.

had a similar experience when i dated a philipino girl last month for a few weeks. she asked me...im a white dude to go with her to the philipino day parade in june. i said yaah sure why not, thought it be cool to experience some elses culture. dude, all she did the whole time was make of all the philipinos there, what they were wearing, telling me she didnt get how these girls are datng philipino guys. she really had no pride in her country and i dont know why we or she was even there other than to maybe make herself feel better by putting down others. the food was pretty good i guess, but i ended breaking up with her the weekend after. the sex was good, she was cute and she treated me great, but i couldnt be with someone who treats their own race so awful and forgets their roots so fast just because theyre in america

另外，我讀了篇報上的文章，寫了email去報社，要求他們讓我翻譯放在這裡，不過已經一星期了，沒回音。如果他們再一星期沒回，我就寫個大綱吧，不想觸 犯著作權。那篇文章，標題是【I am not a Chinese; I am an American】，一個在紐約的中國人寫的，登在紐約派發給通勤族的免費報紙『Metro』。
